Low Pressure in Pull-Out/Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet:
For existing installation
Generally speaking, low pressure in kitchen faucets could be that :
- The spray head is blocked.
- The hose adapter is not clean.
- The main body hub is blocked with debris.
- The cartridge is not clean.
Here is how to troubleshoot step by step:
-
Remove Spray head:
Pull the spray head out or down with the hose and unscrew it from the hose (counter-clockwise by hand).
- Direct the hose to the sink and turn the water on.
- If there is good pressure out of the hose only, then clean the spray head or remove the check valve and clean it.
The check valve could be removed by pulling it out from the spray head.
- If still low pressure from the hose,
Turn the water off from the hot and the cold supply lines under the sink or main supply lines (clockwise by hand).
- Remove the hose from the shortest connection (pipe or hose) under the sink:
Then remove the hose adapter from the hose.
by removing the hose adapter first from the shortest pipe.
- Place a bucket under the pipe/hose connection, turn on your shut-off valves and run water without the hose adapter:
If the pressure is good, then clean the hose adapter and check the valve and re-attach everything back. If cleaning the hose adaptor does not solve the issue, the part can be replaced if needed.
(The check valve is located inside the hose adapter as shown:
This could be removed by pushing it out of the hose adapter from a wider diameter down by using a flat screwdriver.)
- If the water pressure is still low without the hose adapter, then Remove the Cartridge and try to test the faucet without its cartridge.
Don't forget to put a bucket upside down on the valve body (where the cartridge was seated) to direct water to the sink.
- If there is good pressure without the cartridge, then clean the cartridge or replace it if needed.
- If still low pressure without a cartridge, then call Customer Service for more help (the main body hub could be clogged or blocked.).
