1. Remove the lid from the tank
2. Shut off the water by turning the shut-off valve clockwise
3. Drain as much water out of the tank as possible by holding the flush lever down until the toilet is completely flushed.
4. Sponge or towel out any remaining water in the tank. A shop vac also works well.
5. Disconnect the water supply tube or hose that connects the water supply valve to the fill valve.
6. Beneath the tank, loosen the lock nut that holds the fill valve to the tank.
7. Remove the old fill valve.
8. The new fill valve will go on similar to how the old one came off.
9. Reattach the new fill valve and adjust the float to connect height according to the manufacturer's instructions.
10. Attach new refill tube to overflow pipe
11. Reattach the water supply tube or hose to the tank
12. Turn on the water, test the new fill valve and check for leaks
