This article will explain how to replace a horizontal diverter for a kitchen faucet.
To replace the diverter, you must:
- Remove the old diverter
- Install the new diverter
- Re-install the spout and test for leaks
Please Note: Before doing any work on your faucet, please shut off the water supply for the faucet.
Once the water is turned off, you are ready to begin.
Step 1 - Remove the old diverter
- Remove the spout.
b. Once the spout is removed, the diverter will be visible. Use a tool with a thin flat edge to pry the diverter out of the faucet body.
Step 2 - Install the new diverter
- Slide the new diverter into the faucet body. Make sure that the diverter slides in all the way.
Step 3 - Re-install the spout and test for leaks
- Re-install the spout. Once the spout is installed, turn the faucet on and let the water run for 10 minutes. Watch closely for any leaks.
