What are the push buttons, and what do they do?
Push buttons are buttons with connecting rods that activate the flush mechanism to release water into the toilet bowl.
There are two push buttons on a dual-flush toilet tank. One flushes at 1.1 or 0.9 gpf (gallon per flush) and the other flushes at 1.6 or 1.1 gpf, depending on the model.
What are some of the common problems with the push buttons?
The common issues are that the push button rods can bend out of shape, become no longer straight, or may break.
What should be done (repair vs replace)?
The push button assembly should be replaced.
