Costco WaterRidge 386082 Flush Valve Installation Guide

Removing the Old Flush Valve:

  1. Shut off the water supply located behind the tank.
  2. Remove the Tank lid.
  3. Drain the water inside the tank by holding down the flush valve button in a fully open position.

  4. Remove the refill tube of the flush valve overflow tube.

  5. Remove the old flush valve.
    - Rotate the flush valve body in a counter-clockwise direction to unclip it from the base, lifting it up and off. (The unit holds water inside and can spill when moved)Image
  6. Use the Phillip driver to loosen the retaining clip screw found in the bottom of the base, to release the flush valve base from the tank.Image
  7. When the base clip is loosened, slide the base and clip forward, giving the clip clearance at the back. So that it can be lifted out of the tank hole.
    (Don't over-loosen the retaining screw as the clip may fall inside the trap way).Image


Installing the New Flush Valve:

  1. Release the flush valve body from the base by rotating it to the release point.Image
  2. Loosen the retaining screw to allow the clip to move to the end of the threads giving max clearance space for the base installation to the tank hole.Image
  3. Place the base over the tank hole opening, angling the retaining clip down inside the front of the tank hole opening. Then, moving the base forward to allow the opposite end of the clip to drop into the tank hole on the back.
  4. Re-center the base around the tank hole opening with overflow tube towards the back of the tank and tighten the retaining screw until base is snug (Upper and lower clip should be in line for Maximum performance).

  5. Before installing the new flush valve back into the base, first remove the blue tape holding the float.
    Check the float cup on the flush valve to ensure it is located at the third graduation up from the bottom.Image
  6. Rotate the flush valve body back onto the base, so that the Yellow flush button it to the left, and the float cup is facing the front.Image
  7. Connect the refill tube to the flush valve overflow tube, ensuring there is no kink in the base.

Installing the New Push Button in the tank lid:

  1. Remove the existing push button by loosening and removing the retaining nut.Image
  2. On the new push button, ensure the rod length is 80 mm (3 1/8" in length).Image
  3. When 80 mm (3 1/8") is set, tighten the thread rod lock nuts to the button, holding the rods permanently.

  4. Place the new push button into the tank cover. Make sure that the Full Flush Button is on the left side of the tank and aligned over the YELLOW flush valve button Partial flush button is to the right, and over the BLUE flush valve button.

  5. Turn on the water supply.

Adjusting the Water Height inside the tank:

  1. Ensure that the water height inside the tank is aligned with the water mark stamped on the back of the tank.

  2. If water is BELOW the line, rotate the float rod screw CLOCKWISE, lifting the float.
    Push the flush button and watch where the height settles. Continue until the proper water height is achieved.Image
  3. If the water is ABOVE the line, rotate the float rod screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE, lowering the float.
    Push the flush valve button, and watch where the water height settles. Continue this until the proper water height is achieved.Image
