This article will explain how to replace a vertical diverter for a kitchen faucet.
To replace the diverter, you must:
- Remove the old diverter
- Install the new diverter
- Re-install the spout and test for leaks
Please Note: Before doing any work on your faucet, please shut off the water supply for the faucet.
Once the water is turned off, you are ready to begin.
Step 1 - Remove the old diverter
- Remove the spout
- Once the spout has been removed, the top of the diverter should be visible. Locate the two openings and insert a flat tool or object. Turn counter-clockwise until it is completely removed from the faucet body.
Step 2 - Install the new diverter
- Slide the diverter into the faucet body. Using the tool you used to remove the diverter, screw the diverter into the faucet body by turning clockwise.
Step 3 - Re-install the spout and test for leaks
- Re-install the spout. Once the spout is installed, turn the faucet on and let the water run for 10 minutes. Watch closely for any leaks.
